How Much Does Estate Planning Cost?

May 23, 2018 | FAQs

Proper Estate Planning is necessary to protect yourself, your assets, and your loved ones – and it is for everyone, not just seniors or people who consider themselves “wealthy.” A comprehensive Estate Plan can give you control over your assets and spare your loved ones from unnecessary expenses in handling your estate.

Hiring an experienced Elder Law and Estate Planning Attorney is the best way to ensure that your Estate Planning documents are comprehensive, properly protect your assets, and address every contingency you and your family may face with aging, illness, or incapacity.

Once you understand the benefits and importance of Estate Planning, you may wonder how much it costs. The truth is that the cost of Estate Planning varies depending on who you hire. Some law firms charge a fraction of the price that other firms charge; however, we caution you to be wary of shopping for legal services based on price alone.

Comprehensive Asset Protection Estate Planning™ can save your loved ones thousands of dollars or more. Inefficient Estate Planning can cost you thousands of dollars to correct or can cost your loved ones a lot of money after you are gone. It is important to have your Estate Plan done right and done well the first time.

How Much Does Estate Planning Cost At Your Firm?

At our first meeting, we will discuss your situation and the nature of the work that needs to be done, describe what we propose to do, and give you an estimate of how long that may take.

We will prepare a fee agreement that spells out the work to be done and the fee we will charge. It will indicate whether you are paying a flat fee or an hourly fee and how often you can expect us to bill you. In the event, the scope of the work changes, or if you require additional work that was not discussed at the initial meeting, we will prepare a new fee agreement to cover the additional work.

We pride ourselves on the service we offer, our team, and our expertise. We take the time to go over your concerns, your questions, and make sure we provide information so that you feel empowered to make the decisions that are right for you and your family.
